Soft clicks & silent love

Writing you this poem under our shared blanket,
I am convinced that you are my cherished amulet.

Feeling  you pat me to sleep brings a smile to my face,
The one I haven’t had in days.

The soft clink of your bangles as you comfort me at night,
Is the gentle sound that brings me delight.

The cool touch of your hands against my skin,
For this I would trade everything within.

God must have shaped Him in your form,
For I have never known a love so firm.

Your presence is the night sky under which I find peace.
Your cuddle is the warmth where my worries cease.

Every day I wish to return this love in full,
I will be the sunbeam that would never let your sparkle dull.

I will claim the right to be your mother,
Than being your only child rather.

You will always be my first child so dear,
Throughout times gentle and severe.

Hurting you is the last thing I’d ever do,
For to hurt you would be the pain I could never compare to.

Making you happy will always be my greatest purpose,
For in your happiness, my sky stretches wider I suppose.

I love you like I love no other,
And I am the luckiest that I get to call you my mother.
